I’m a bilingual, artistic UX Designer based in Houston, Texas.
The “E” in my logotype is stylized as a nod to my Chinese American identity: it resembles both the letter “E”, as well as the Chinese spelling of my last name, Wang (pronounced like “wawng” or “wong”). The “superposition” of these spellings is also a hint to my geeky love of sci fi and futurism.
In my past life, I wore many hats from civil engineering student, to art teacher, board game startup co-founder, and groundskeeper. I took many twists and turns in my journey to learn that I am passionate about two key things in life: art and people.
What drew me to UX Design is that it is about serving people based on what their needs are, not on assumptions of how we want to help them. Like detectives, our work is best when we come in with fresh (unbiased) eyes, not writing our conclusions before we’ve conducted our observations and experiments. I believe my artistic creativity can lead to ideas that help enhance a user’s enjoyment of their products.
In my free time, I enjoy running, board games, and science fiction worldbuilding.
